The Lawson ESS System was created to allow employees access to their payroll and benefits information by using the computer. This system allows access to do many things, such as change tax withholdings, update direct deposits, view benefits and more. For first time users of ESS, two steps need to be completed.
System Requirements
Pop Up windows are a normal part of Lawson Employee Self Service. You may wish to disable Pop Up Blockers before you begin the Open Enrollment process.
Lawson ESS is only compatible with Internet Explorer 6 and greater.
- DO NOT try to access with Mozilla Browser
- DO NOT try to access with Mac operating system.
Password Resets
For Security purposes, Password Resets can only be requested when accessing Lawson ESS from work computer.
Due to DRHS policy, Information Technology cannot provide support for your personal home computer.
How to log in:
(If this is your first time logging in, you will see the following Lawson screen.)

- For User name please enter your Employee ID# +"e" = (i.e., 123456e).
- Employees with less than 6-digit employee numbers should add zeros to the beginning of the employee number for a total of 6 digits (i.e., 1234 = 001234e).
- Initial Password = first initial of the first and last name and the last 4 digits of the social security number (i.e., Jane Smith with Social Security Number 123-456-7890 = js7890).
